Crude oil

”Black gold“ continues to be the main engine of the world economy. It is indispensable for the production of fuel and for numerous products in the chemical industry. The most important producers of crude oil are Saudi Arabia, Russia, the USA, Mexico and Iran. Huge new deposits were discovered in Brazil as recently as 2007. Crude oil is obtained by drilling into mostly deep layers of the earth, both on land and on offshore oil rigs.

Geberit uses crude oil primarily in the form of plastics such as polyethylene, polypropylene and polystyrene, which are required for cisterns, mechanisms, actuator plates and pipes, among other things.
