Polyethylene
This is by far the most frequently used plastic in the world. Polyethylene was discovered in 1898 by the German chemist Hans von Pechmann, but its manufacture was not economically feasible until 1940. Its advantages are manifold: Polyethylene does not impart taste or odor, is highly transparent, easy to process, readily weldable, longlasting, exceptionally resilient, food-safe and can ultimately be recycled.
Geberit uses polyethylene in the manufacture of concealed cisterns and pipings systems, where granulate of different colors is purchased as the main base material.
